  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place water, brown sugar, and lump of butter in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. Mix all cake ingredients together except the walnuts and spread into an 8 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
  4. Pour the boiling sugar mixture over the dough.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and browned. Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving, it needs to set.
