My April Hatchery tasting box provided me with a small jar of Delta Blue Organic Blueberry Fruit Spread and a recipe idea for a blueberry mojito. I may have mentioned that mojito before… however I don’t have any rum in my kitchen. It’s not normally my “thing”, and the store was feeling just so far away. Gin is my thing though, so instead I used the same recipe with gin, therefore making a blueberry southside.
I added a small handful of frozen blueberries for what I like to call a “cocktail snack”, and cause they’re pretty. The blueberry fruit spread added a nice color to the cocktail and refreshing fruitiness. I was intrigued by the thicker consistency it gave to the drink as well, making it feel a little more hefty. I have never even considered using jam in a drink before but look, it works! The cogs in my brain are now churning out ideas for a cocktail with the blenheim apricot jam I bought a while ago from We Love Jam. It could quite possibly turn into the best cocktail I’ve ever had, if it follows the jam’s footsteps. What kind of liquor would go well with apricot? Any ideas please give me a shout, preferably something that I will want to continue drinking.
